Meadow Keeper

The Main Office

The one room in the meadow where money is ever mentioned. Out on the grounds, none of this exists.

Nothing in the meadow renews and nothing expires. You pay once, or never; there is no subscription to lapse and no card to keep on file.

One tenth of every purchase goes into the preservation fund, counted here in the open.

Questions asked at the desk

What exactly comes with a free plot?

A public plot in their garden with its own permanent address. Five photographs, unlimited words for their story, your choice of three markers, a guest book, and flowers and candles from every visitor. You can download the whole memorial as a complete archive any time, and none of it ever expires.

What exactly does tending add?

Everything in a free plot, plus room for more of them: twenty five photographs, up to six short films, three of their sounds with captions, and keepsakes placed at the plot from the keeper's catalog. The keeper lights their candle every year on the days you choose, keeps a flower bed planted at their plot, and walks past with the flame on their days. You also get a printed keepsake card for your wallet, with a QR code that leads back to them. Ten dollars, paid once.

Is it really only ten dollars, once?

Yes. There is no subscription and nothing renews. You pay once and the plot is tended from then on. And if you never pay anything at all, the plot stands just the same, free and whole.

How do payments work?

Through Stripe, at a secure checkout. The meadow never sees or stores your card.

Can I add more or make changes later?

Any time. Your emailed key opens the plot for editing whenever you return, and anything you add is kept. Tending can be added later too, from your ledger.

Can a memorial be kept private?

Yes. Every plot has a switch on its tend page: give them a place in the public meadow, or keep the plot unlisted. An unlisted plot never appears in the gardens or in search, and only people you give the address to can visit.

Can I make a memorial for someone else's pet, as a gift?

You can. Plant the plot yourself, free or tended, and give the family the address when the time feels right. When they want to tend it themselves, add their email on the plot's tend page and they can ask for their own key. Many of the kindest plots in the meadow were planted by a friend. The keeper keeps a note on gifts that land well.

Janet, the groundskeeper
janet, the groundskeeper

She is usually out on the grounds, keeping the paths clear and the record straight. Write to her any time at keeper@meadowkeeper.com and she will answer when her rounds bring her back to the desk. If something at a plot needs her eyes, the flag line at the bottom of any page finds her too.

I'm Janet. I keep this meadow. What brings you by?

Or just keep walking. The meadow is yours.
